Martin Pennels MSc ARCH (AEES) LEED AP (Homes)

Martin has 15 years experience in the green construction sector, working in both the design and planning of residential buildings and their construction in the UK and across Spain. In 2011 he completed his Masters degree in Architectural Science (Advanced Energy and Environmental Studies) at the University of East London in the UK, relocating to Canada shortly after.

Since arriving in Vancouver, Martin has studied for his LEED accredited professional (AP) exams from the Canadian Green Building Council (CaGBC), receiving the Homes designation.

He has also completed the Canadian Passive House Institute (CanPHI), passive house designer training at UBC.

Since 2011 Martin has worked with Inhaus Developments Ltd, where he played a key role in the construction of two LEED platinum projects which were awarded the 2013 Fortis BC Green Building Award for excellence in sustainable development & construction.

Martin formed EcoVan Green Construction LTD in 2014.

During 2015 Martin hopes to study for his Built Green (Building Science for New Homes) accreditation and CEA ( Certified Energy Advisor) exams, and begin studying for his diploma in BC Architectural and Building technology.

Martin is the Vice-President of the Bliss Project Society, a not-for- profit society which promotes community development through the arts, health, and sustainable activities.
